Aishwarya Tipnis

ATA is headed by award-winning architect Aishwarya Tipnis. Her deep understanding of the Indian context coupled with her training in Britain enables her to develop bespoke solutions that are both global in approach and apt in the local context. She has over a decade of experience in the field of architectural and urban conservation and has pioneered several urban conservation and building restoration projects in India. Aishwarya is the recipient of the highest civilian honor in the culture sector the insignia of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettre (Knight of the Arts and Letters), by the Government of France in 2018 for her outstanding commitment to the preservation of French Heritage in West Bengal. She is also the recipient of the UNESCO Award for Heritage Conservation in the Asia-Pacific Region (Award of Merit: Mahidpur Fort & Honourable Mention for  Doon School, Dehradun) in 2016. She is the recipient of the Commonwealth Professional Fellowship 2011, Bonjour India Embassy of France Travel Fellowship 2010, Scottish International Scholarship 2006, as well as the IHBC Gus Austley Award 2007, Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland Award 2007. She has authored a book on "Vernacular Traditions: Contemporary Architecture" as well as multiple articles on heritage conservation in leading dailies. She is currently a visiting faculty to the Department of Urban Design at the School of Planning & Architecture New Delhi. 

Kamalika Bose

Kamalika Bose is an urban conservationist and heritage management professional with twelve years of experience in heritage- oriented planning and advocacy, education and research. She is the Founder & Director of Heritage Synergies India, a dynamic, emerging practice deeply committed towards the stewardship, preservation, and management of built and cultural heritage. HSI is a dynamic practice deeply committed towards the stewardship, preservation, and management of built and cultural heritage. She has worked on adaptive reuse projects involving museums, resorts, residencies and cultural precincts in West Bengal, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Kerala. She was recently awarded the iGen 2019 'Top 50 Young Architects and Designers' by 'Architect and Interiors India Magazine. 

Kamalika obtained a Master in Historic Preservation Planning from Cornell University as a Fulbright Scholar (2011-2013) and has a Bachelors degree from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. She has worked in neighborhood preservation and cultural heritage through positions at Historic Districts Council, New York. Kamalika has co-curated the exhibition 'Bengal's Durga' at the Totally Thames Festival in London and launched the on-going initiative 'Chitpur Reimagined': Kolkata's Urban Heritage Corridor'. She is an advisor to Kolkata Architecture Foundation and an expert member of ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Shared Built Heritage. 

Bose is the co-author of A History of Interior Design in India: Vol 1: Ahmedabad (CEPT 2007), Cheenapara: Cultural Identity and Urban Heritage of the Chinese Calcutta (CEPT 2014) and author of Seeking the Lost Layers: An Inquiry into the Traditional Dwellings of the Urban Elite in North Calcutta (2008). The forthcoming books are 'People Called Kolkata (Fall 2019) and Legacy of the Hoysalas: Belur, Halebidu, and Somnathpura (Winter 2019) co-authored with Dr. George Michell.

Mukul Agarwal is the proprietor of the firm, The Address, wherein she practices Interior Architecture and promotes art. A believer of women empowerment, she has been a past president of the Ladies Study Group and is a board member of Sapphire Creations Dance Co. Amongst other activities she also works with zeal to create awareness and inspire preservation of the built heritage of our city, as an active member and trustee of Calcutta Heritage Collective.

Rupande Shah and Associates (RSA) – is a design firm that believes in creating lifestyles that are imaginative and specific to each client needs. She is one of the 100 best architects of India, as selected by Architects & Interiors. Her ideas and thoughts are translated to form chic and elegant houses with clean uncluttered spaces by using unusual materials, textures, and colour. Light is very important and plays a pivotal role in all her projects. Her talent talks through various mediums and is seen evidently in the unusual juxtapositioning of different and new materials and mediums creating unique homes for one and all. According to her, each project is like a new canvas and she works on each one of it with a different perspective. The firm is constantly striving to improve its design philosophy and loves experimenting with new ideas. Rupande Shah, an architect by profession has studied from Academy Of Architecture Mumbai. Thereafter she trained with Talati Panthaky Associates and went on to pursue her masters at “Pratt Institute” NYC. She worked with PICCED, (Pratt Institute Centre for Community & Environmental Development) which was involved with building homes for the underprivileged sections and on projects sanctioned by the city of New York for rehabilitating the ‘homeless’.On her return to India, she started her firm in 1996 and has since then completed more than a 1000 homes. Her work has been published in many national and international publications including India Today, Society Interiors, etc. Her work has also been published in various coffee table books. She was nominated as one of the ‘100 hottest architects’ in India by Architects/Interiors Magazine in 2015. She was also a part-time design faculty in Jadavpur University and is currently serving on the board of the academic council of J.D.Birla College. She has also participated in various national and international seminars, workshops and been on panels for many competitions.

Swarup Dutta is a practicing Scenographer & Artist! His desire to express himself has taken him to various mediums! But photography remains his first love! Teaching for more than 12 years as on August 2014, working with IICD, OCFIT, NIFT, Wigan & Leigh, MSU Baroda. Worked as Dean Undergraduate Program at IICD and as Associate Professor at NIFT.  For more than 12 years as on August 2014, rendering my services for various fashion designers and fashion houses of repute. For 5 years as a design consultant with various fashion designers working towards developing their lines further and tuning their collections and providing them forecasting and trend related services. Have run a collaborative label called ‘Style Militants’ for around two years.
